This is a lever-action repeating rifle designed by John Browning to handle some of the more powerful cartridges of the period. Though originally designed for black powder cartridge, the action was strong enough to transtion to smokeless powder with only minor changes. It features a 26 inch octagon barrel, blue finish, smooth straight grip walnut stock and handguard, Semi-Buckhorn rear and Lyman Ivory bead front sights, and plain trigger. The rifle is in very good condition with the moderate metal finish wear. The Principal lettering, numerals and design on metal is legible. The stock is lightly scratched and bruised but free of cracks. It is in good working order.
