This model followed the 1st Model Outdoorsman and featured the short action and Micrometer rear sight and wears the non-ribbed barrel of the Outdoorsman. Only 1,067 were manufactured in 1940 and 1941 before World War 2 caused production to cease. At present, only 50-60 or so examples are known to exist. According to Roy Jinks, Smith and Wesson historian, this gun shipped in February of 1940. It resides in a red picture Masterpiece box, itself very rare as most examples are seen in a red Outdoorsman box. Also included are the rare orange K-22 Masterpiece brochure and a prewar Helpful Hints brochure, which has some pencil marks. A fantastic example! Price: $5,950.00 Handgun Caliber: .22 Long Rifle |
