Description:
24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with full length magazine tube. Bore has shine with scattered pitting and visible rifling. Original sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear with a Lyman folding tang. Overall metal surfaces are a plum/brown color. Crisp action. Wood is in good condition with several dings and gouges. The right side of the buttstock has an amateur "J. S. T." carved into it. Forearm has "J. S. T." in dots on the left side and just a "T" in dots on the right side. 4 piece cleaning rods in the crescent rifle style buttplate. Manufactured by Winchester in 1888. This one looks like it has a story to tell.
