Description:
Manufactured by Brown manufacturing Company of Newbury Port Mass. Pictured on page 36 of the Nimschke Engraving book by R L Wilson. It has the beautiful Nimschke style flowing scrollwork that is unmatchable. Absolutely flawless engraving. On the bottom of the frame is "LDN". Wood has a cheekpiece stock with most original varnish and a few handling mars. Rifle style buttplate that also has nice engraving. Beach's combination front sight, flip up rear sight and a folding tang sight. Barrels are 32 RF, 38 and 44. Fitted in a homemade oak case. Barrels retain most bright blue. Receiver has turned a smokey color with good traces of case color. This Ballard was in Norm Flayderman's collection for 20 years or more and then in my own collection for about 20 years. Just a fantastic outfit!
