Description: Excetional set of competition accuracy and quality Hi Standard match pistols: a truly championship-quality Citation, and an ISU 103. Both of these pistols are "competition" quality and accuracy, but the 102 Citation is at the international competition/Olympic level of quality and accuracy. While Hi Standard marketed a commemorative "Olympic" pistol in 1980, that particular model and series (of approximately 1000 guns) was Olympic in name only, was not a true copy of the gun used to win the Olympic competition, and are not usually of competition quality, being made made for collector and decorative markets. This Citation 102, offered here, is a rare, true competition quality gun at the international or Olympic level, specifically was made for the championship marksman level of use and user. The 103 ISU model was a "lesser" level of quality, but still at a level designed (at the time) for national and international competition. The different type of muzzle brake used on the 103 provides better accuracy than the alternative on the 102, if that gun is used with the muzzle brake. Originally, 4 similar guns were available as a set. Now, there are two. That set of two remaining guns, including three extra OEM 10 rd. magazines, 2 of them blued and one in stainless steel, one with the original "extra magazine" box with a total of 5x, 10 rd magazines,, and a .22lr barrel, is $2650. This is a significant discount over the usual price for this set of 2 guns and extra elements. The OEM extra magazine usually is $150 when available. The barrel usually is around $200-275. The spare barrel can be purchased separately, as well (POR). The spare magazines are available either with the complete set at the price as stated above, or in lesser quantity, with an individual gun purchase, but are not for sale separately without the gun(s). The box is SN matched for the 103 ISU, with cleaning tool also included. The extra magazines are not for sale separately from the guns. Both guns include the original, hardwood Hi Standard contoured target grips. The extra magazines have been evaluated to be sure they function with these guns. The prices for individual guns sold separately are
These guns are for sale locally, both individually and as a set. As a result, individual items from the sale, and the complete set, are subject to prior sale. These were used as a group for engineering and developmental use study. The primary objectives of the study were to determine or measure the effects of muzzle brakes at various locations in the barrel, the effectiveness of the tapered barrel design with end pendulum mass, and the utility of.22s pistols of high accuracy for defense and field operations purposes, where high accuracy and minimal collateral damage of any type were required. These guns now are offered as a complete set plus a 22lr barrel permitting comparison of 22s to 22LR low velocity ammunition. All are used, in excellent condition with only minimal surface scratching. All were acquired in Germany. some have German import and proof marks, and all have USA re-import marks. All have the OEM pair of barrel weight, and where originally separate, the removable muzzle brakes. Although purchased in Germany, no German proofing date marks are evident. All have 6.75” tapered barrels with enlarged ends. All guns are in 22 short (22s) caliber but a barrel is included permitting use with special 22lr ammunition. All are Hamden manufacture. All guns use feed ramps that are integral with the magazine. As to details of description starting with the oldest or earliest manufactured, the guns are: 1. Olympic Citation 102. Gold lettering throughout except for SN, some loss of blue on trigger. Extensive additional barrel markings, special red and white sight picture, slight mars on bracket for weight and frame that are underneath the bluing, and probably from factory processing of the gun. SN places manufacture in 1958. Removable muzzle brake with OEM screws. 2. Olympic 103 ISU model (integral muzzle brake). No gold trim, grey-black finish on trigger. SN places manufacture in 1959. Not marked as Trophy or Citation. SN-matched box (illustrated) stating model as 9299. Cleaning tool included. The three (3) extra OEM 10rd 22s magazines that will fit any of these guns. The .22lr can be used with either of them so long as only very low velocity .22lr ammunition is used. Some tools, the one box originally provided with the 103 also are included, and one original box for one of the two extra magazines are included.. These are included in the price for the complete set at no additional charge. If the guns are for current use as precision firearms, please note that the 22s guns may require careful, precise adjustment specific to the ammunition used, or the ambient temperature of operation.
