Description:
28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 40-60 Marlin caliber with a very good bright shiny bore. Sights include a beaded blade front and a flattop sporting rear. Full length magazine tube. About 60% thinning blue remains on the barrel. Traces of blue in protected areas on the rebated receiver. Smooth action. Checkered forearm and straight grip stock are a nicely grained walnut. Wood is in good condition with the typical handling dings. Steel buttplate. This is a good example of an early 3-digit serial number Model 1881 with the rebated receiver. Fewer than 300 were produced with the rebated receiver.
