Description:
Manufactured by Simeon North of Middletown, Connecticut, circa 1813 to 1815 with total quantity approximately 1,626 (around 1,000 delivered to the U.S. Navy with the remainder delivered to the U.S. Army).  This pistol was delivered to the Navy since it is fitted with a steel belt hook on the left side of the stock.  Complete with a wooden ramrod with swelled tip. As a limited production type, the Model 1813 is in strong demand by collectors. This pistol has historic importance as the First Arms Contract in which a gun maker agreed to provide a product with interchangeable parts.
Very good in original flintlock configuration. The pistol barrel has A SMOOTH DARK PATINA patina on the barrel and barrel band. The lock, side plate, trigger guard, back strap and buttcap have a brown mottled patina. The barrel has been lightly cleaned and has scattered spots of age discoloration with light pitting. The lock has a smooth dark patina. With the original U.S. issued tool.

The action is very good. This is a solid example of a rare and historic U.S. primary martial pistol produced in very limited numbers during the War of 1812.

Price: $7,900.00
