The new VF-ORYZ is the ultimate precision semi-auto 17 HMR rifle.  The VF-ORYX is set into the ORYX Chassis from MDT - perfect when shooting from the bench, a bipod, or a prone position!  The snake fluting is not a straight flute, nor a spiral flute but a hybrid of the two. Its increased surface area allows more heat dissipation than conventional straight flutes but at the same time is more rigid than spiral flutes. A Forward Blow Compensator is then installed to provide recoil free shooting. Its innovative design will also help direct noise downrange.

It has always been Volquartsen's goal to achieve bolt action accuracy from a semi-auto and this begins with the barrel. The VF-ORYX's stainless steel barrel features match bore and chamber tolerances. These dimensions are proprietary to Volquartsen and have evolved from over 25 years of testing. Digital gauging equipment ensures that each barrel meets Volquartsen's stringent criteria.

  • Stainless steel CNC-machined receiver with threaded-in barrel and integral 20MOA picatinny rail
  • The CNC-machined bolt includes a titanium round firing pin and tuned extractor for improved performance and function
  • TG2000 trigger installed providing a crisp, clean 2.25lb trigger pull and both pretravel and overtravel are user-adjustable to the shooter's preference

  • The MDT ORYX BLACK chassis is a one-piece integrated aluminum chassis and buttstock created to improve the consistency and accuracy of your your rifle. From the forend to the buttpad, the ORYX is a one-piece aircraft grade aluminum setup.  Featuring a free floating barrel, contoured forend grip, adjustable cheek riser, and overmolded pistol grip it doesn't get much more comfortable than the ORYX Chassis. It also features a .25" spacer in the buttpad for adjustable LOP.
