This in a neat piece of history joining to historic gun makers. Colt Lightning Rifle that is Browning Brothers marked and comes with a Colt Factory letter showing that this gun was shipped to Browning Brothers in Utah in a one gun shipment. Colt letter shows that it is still in its original configuration. Browning Brothers stamp is located behind rear sight (see pics). 26" octagon barrel and full magazine show traces of original blue mainly in the protected areas. Barrel markings are nice and sharp. I will rate the bore a 7 on a scale from 1 to 10. 32-20 caliber. Receiver retains some blue but is mainly a brown / gray patina. Colt pony on left side is still present. Action functions nicely. Loading gate is loose, but does not interfere with operation. Both forend and buttstock are in good condition showing normal handling marks. All in all a great piece of American Gun Manufactueres History. Two of the most famous Gunmakers tied to one gun. Must ship to a FFL or Curio and Relics license holder. This firearm as with any other should be checked first by a gunsmith before any attempt is made to fire / operate it. Please feel free to ask questions.
