Payment Types Accepted: M.O., Personal Check with hold Description:    Here is one of my favorites, it just feels right in my hand for a pocket pistol. Colt decided that the .31 1849 needed a bit more punch. So this was offered which was of interest to the police, civilians, Civil War officers, and soldiers who had the money for a back up. A diffident mix of three currently made Colts, the 1849 pocket for the size, the 1860 Army for the barrel style and rebated cylinder, lastly the 1851 Navy for the .36 caliber. A great mix in my opinion.    This pistol is serial number 2473 and it is all matching. Made in 1861 with the New York address and the pistol is fully functional and locks up tight. The fluted and rebated cylinder has some light rust in the bottoms of the 5 chambers. Probably left either loaded or not cleaned right. 4 of the 5 cylinder safety pins are perfect the 5th not so much. If you notice in the photos the back strap still shows its silver plate quite nicely. There is also color case hardening showing on the sides. The bore of the 4-1/2” barrel has some pitting, yet the rifling is still very strong. This one has been in my collection for many years and I was a firm believer in leaving them as is and just preserving not restoring them.    At 77 I have to start thinning my collection and passing them on to those that appreciate what I have collected over the years. I also know I have more latitude in selling an antique but even those I'll rather ship to an FFL, we can discuss that.
