This Remington's barrel date is 12-43. The rifle's serial number is 4994738. This rifle serial number falls into the last block of Sniper rifles to be built. The serial number range is 4992001 To 4999045. There were 7,044 built in this last run. This makes this rifle fairly rare today!. This rifle's bore is in minty condition. The 24 inch barrel is chambered to shoot the 30 Government 1906 [30-06] cartridge. The front sight is correctly never installed on this rifle. The model number and serial number are correctly restamped on each side of the receiver ring below the scope base. The original military finish would rate a 99% condition! The scope is the correct Weaver Model 330. The lens is clear with no fogging. This scope retains all of the original bluing. The action works smoothly with no issues. The stock is in almost unissued condition. There are no dents or other blemishes on this stock. All of the parts have the small "R" for Remington. The scope still has the leather lens caps intact. The stock has the combination plastic oiler with the yellow end caps in the stock storage compartment. This Sniper Rifle as you can see, is in stunning condition! This rifle deserves to be in a fine military collection!
