Description:
This is a British P-1842 Socket Bayonet for use with Lovell Catch on the 1842 musket and 1851 Minie rifle. This bayonet is in good original condition with oxidized finish 17" blade with many signs of use with repair about 1/3 the length down the blade, it would appear that the blade was welded from two blades. The ricasso has no readable marking as is the same for the rest of the bayonet. The back of the 3" socket is also blank. Over-all a very nice example of a repaired bayonet.
