BRACE of LARGE BORE PISTOLS DAMASCUS BARRELS .68 Matched Pair 1800s Antique
With Octagonal Barrels, Carved Stocks
Here we present an antique Brace of Pistols, made circa the 1850s. Each of these pistols has an octagonal barrel with fine Damascene pattern. Bores are very large and smooth at .68 caliber. Stocks have carved, fluted grips. There is some modeset engraving on the barrel tangs and the locks. These would have offered a full grip and massive projectiles while being small enough to conceal in the waistband.
The overall condition is good. These pistols are virtually identical in form and condition with the obvious exception of one having the cracked and repaired grip. Damascus pattern is clear. The actions are excellent. The bores are smooth and patinated. These would look terrific on display!
