An Early Civil War Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver With A 6 Inch Barrel & Inscribed On The Backstrap To "C.M. STEWART" In Nice Untouched Condition. Serial #57,683, made in 1853. All matching numbers, all original and complete. The pistol has nice metal and markings throughout. It also has fine edges, and a 6 inch barrel on it. The cylinder scene is also nice all around. All the metal on the revolver has an even and natural light patina throughout it. All screws are nice throughout. The original factory grips are excellent throughout with all of their factory finish still on them. This Early Colt Revolver has a fine action and bore. This Early Civil War Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver With A 6 Inch Barrel & Inscribed On The Backstrap To "C.M. STEWART" Would Be A Nice Addition To Any Collection. The Name On "C.W. STRWART" On The Backstrap Needs To Be Researched As It Is fresh Out of An Old PA Collection. These Colt 1849 Pocket Revolvers Were Often Bought & Carried By Officers & Soldiers On Both The North & The South During The Civil War!
