Description:
Poseidon 20 Gauge built in 2008 with 30" IM/F special order Demi-bloc ejector solid rib barrels. Bores are excellent measuring .631 top and .639 bottom. Choked .025[F] top and .021[IM] bottom. Sideplated receiver is French Silver with full coverage floral and vine engraving by D. Volpi and signed. Makers name inlayed in gold on both sides and "Poseidon" on the floorplate. Hand detachable locks with two sets of locks supplied, one set with non-selective single trigger and one with double triggers! Even the locks are engraved! Bottom tang extended to the pistol grip cap. Stocked in beautiful Circasion Walnut with very deeply contrasting mineral streaks. Engraved pistol grip cap. Monogrammed stock oval. Forend with "Boss type" forend iron. LOP is 15 1/4" to a nicely done leather covered pad. DAC - 1 1/2" DAH - 2" Weighs 7lb even.
This is an exquisite and classy piece by one of Italy's premier makers. Originally #2 of a two gun set and so marked in gold on barrels, toplever, and forend. It is very tight and appears to be little used with only a few minimal handling marks. Toplever well right of center. Cased in a leather trunk case with snap caps and oil bottle. It just doesn't get much better than this.
