Description:
Serial #854902, .30 WCF (.30-30), 20" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1919-made carbine that retains about 45-50% of the original blue finish with some silvering along the barrel and magazine tube near the muzzle, as well as some general gray fading on the frame and barrel bands. The walnut stock and forend have numerous small handling marks and minor surface blemishes scattered about the original oil finish, and has crisp and clear NY State Police issue stamps on the buttplate tang: "50 / N.Y.S.T." The New York State Police was officially formed on April 11, 1917, and the Winchester Model 1894 SRC was adopted as their service longarm. These NY-marked carbines are much prized today, and this original example, which exhibits a very handsome degree of patina, is in fine condition overall. FFL or C&R;
