Description:
26 inch octagon barrel chambered in the 45-70 caliber with a fair worn bore that has visible rifling and could use a good cleaning. Original sights include a German silver blade front and a folding ladder rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube are a brown/gray patina. Visible markings. Receiver is also gray/brown color as is the forend cap and rifle style buttplate. Hammer and lever have slight traces of case colors. Crisp action. Walnut stocks are well-worn with some cracks and chips in the wrist area. This Winchester was manufactured in 1903 and would be a good example piece. .
