Description:
Price reduced again for this outstanding Colt M1911A1 pistol s/n 865232. Comes with letter from Colt Archives stating this pistol was made on Dec 24,1942 and was shipped on January 6,1943 to Commanding Officer, Springfield Armory. Condition is excellent. There is a ton of original parkerized finish remaining, 98% or better by my estimate. The finish has the frosty, slightly rough appearance found only on parkerized guns in very high condition. There is very little edge wear. Slide has matching serial number under the firing pin stop. The slide is marked with Colt commercial roll markings. Serial number, small GHD cartouche, ordnance acceptance mark are all stamped through the finish indicating finish is original and unaltered. Feed ramp and grip screw bushings are in the white. Wear marks on the barrel breach match wear marks on the slide face and frame indicating that the barrel is original to the gun. Barrel is marked Colt 45 Auto and P on the right side and large G on the bottom in front of the lug. Barrel retains most of the original blued finish. Bore is bright and shiny with no visible defects. Front grip strap retains nearly all finish. The only detractions to this gun are two spots of discoloration on the right side and a minor take down mark. These are barely visible unless seen in bright outdoor light. This pistol is one of 6575 unsold commercial models that were parkerized, re-serialed, and applied to Colt’s military contract. The top of the frame of this gun is marked S (for sales) by the disconnector. There is a round hole in the frame and a rectangular cut-out on the underside of the slide for the commercial Swartz safety. Small parts are all correct and retain nearly all original finish. Grips are wide ring, hollow back with mold numbers, without reinforcing ribs. Grips are excellent. Comes with excellent pre -war Colt commercial magazine. Mag is pinned base and retains the majority of original finish, although mag finish has thinned to a brown patina. Mag baseplate is parkerized and marked Colt 45 Auto in “squashed” font. This is a high condition Colt military/commercial model 1911A1 that will be an excellent addition to anyone’s collection. Price is $5695 plus $125 shipping and insurance. or injury, including death, that may be sustained by Buyer/, or any of the property belonging to buyer/, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, or otherwise, while participating in such use.
2. Buyer/ acknowledges havingon and purchased a used firearm. Buyer/ is fully aware of the potential risks involved and hazards connected with any kind of use of such firearm, and buyer/ agrees to have said firearm examined by a competent gunsmith before attempting to fire or in any way use said firearm. Buyer/ VOLUNTARILY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISKS OF LOSS, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH, which may be sustained by buyer/, or any loss or damage of property owned by buyer/, as a result of any kind of use of this firearm, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.
3. Buyer/ hereby AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the RELEASEES from any loss, liability, damage or costs, including court costs and attorney fees, that may incur due to use of said firearm by buyer/, WHETHER CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise.
4. It is the express intent of buyer/ that this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement shall bind the members of buyer/'s family and spouse, if buyer/ is alive, and buyer/'s heirs, assigns and personal representative, if buyer/ is deceased, and shall be deemed as a RELEASE, WAIVER, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO USE SUE the above-named RELEASEES. I hereby further agree that this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas and specifically, Johnson County.
IV. Return Policy
This item is sold with a three day non-firing return. Three day period begins with receipt at /buyer's designated delivery address. Disassembly is allowed. Buyer pays both initial and return shipping. Discharge of this firearm i.e. shooting, and/or damage of any kind including but not limited to scratches, take down marks, dents, etc. caused by but not limited to buyer, buyer's friends, relatives, or associates, and not readily identifiable in listing photos voids return, as does substitution or removal of any part whatsoever.
V. Shipping and Insurance
Shipping cost does not include insurance unless specifically stated. We strongly advise insuring your purchase for a minimum of the purchase price. In the case of a firearm lost or damaged in shipment, buyer/ is responsible for retaining all packaging, obtaining pictures of damaged item and packaging, and for notification of loss or damage to Kansas Military Firearms LLC within 48 hours of receipt or intended delivery time at buyer/'s designated delivery address. Filing and administering any and all claims with the delivering carrier is the responsibility of buyer/.
