Smith & Wesson K-38 Combat Masterpiece .38 Special. Made circa 1950, serial K86037 (4x: frame, cylinder, barrel, grips) is a five-screw configuration with a 4-inch pinned barrel (integral serrated rib). Features include an adjustable rear sight, color case hammer (narrow, checkered spur), color case trigger (narrow, serrated face), square butt (both front and back with six serrations) and checkered diamond grips. No box or papers. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Both single and double action trigger pulls are smooth. The cylinder rotates without stutter and locks properly. When locked, the cylinder has "usual" side-to-side movement but nothing front-to-back. Metal finish is approximately 70 percent with thinning to silver or brown in places. Grips are solid and approximately 80 percent. The price is firm. $850 plus shipping.
