Among the finest .22 Combat Masterpieces to be found this fabulous signed factory Virginia LeBlanc engraved Pre Model 18 left the factory on January 16, 1958 to Rex Firearms in New York, New York. The gun is all original and is equipped with a 4” barrel, factory gold finish with mother of pearl service grips. The gun features the gorgeous Class A engraving work of S&W’s only female factory engraver of the time, Virginia LeBlanc; note her signature flowing floral scrollwork on a subdued punch dot background. Knowledgable collectors are aware of the highly unique full-frame coverage and rarely seen factory gold finish! This investment grade and incredibly rare .22 Combat Masterpiece is one of two known in this configuration, the other being pictured in Michael Kennelly’s wonderful book Smith & Wesson Engraving on page 181; this gun being 13 serial numbers away and signed identically VL on the right grip frame. The gun remains in fabulous nearly-new condition retaining 99% of the original factory gold finish and is incredible in hand! A must own K-Frame, do not miss this one folks!
