Description:
LEUPOLD Scoped SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S. M1 GARAND .30-06 Infantry Rifle SA

"The greatest battle implement ever devised"- George Patton

Here we present a U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured circa February of 1944 at Springfield Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts. This .30-06 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War and also saw service during the Vietnam War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.”

This rifle features a Springfield Armory receiver that dates to 1944. The barrel is unmarked and looks nearly new. The bolt is marked D28287-12SA and S-04 with a diamond. The trigger group is marked D28290-14-SA. The hammer is marked C46008-7 SA. The receiver leg is marked A 1 2 with a diamond and D 28291 32. The op rod is marked 6535382 SA. The stock is bedded. The scope mount allows the use of the rear peep sight and offsets the scope to the left. The scope is a Leupold VARI-X IIc 3-9x40mm and has the gold band on the objective under the scope cap.

The overall condition is fine. Finish is virtually complete. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and a tight .300 and the muzzle and throat. The smooth walnut stock is unmarked and also looks virtually new.
