Synopsis: Colt, 1917, U.S. Military Revolver, Lanyard Cord, 79854, FB00923 Description: The Colt 1917, caliber .45 ACP, serial number 79854, has a 5 1/2-inch barrel with a fin-shaped blade sight and notched rear frame. It was made in 1919, military accepted on left upper frame with the serial number 79854 on the butt. The barrel shows the last patent date of 1905, along with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". The Military inspection is indicated by the “S 20” marking. Frame and crane were matched with #235688. The revolver has a brushed finish (with bright sides on the hammer), a lanyard loop, and smooth oiled grips with matching (penciled) numbers on inner surfaces. Complete with a near-excellent tan-colored lanyard cord with an attachment clip and copper cleaning rod. Total production was 151,700 units. Condition: Excellent original finish, with just the faintest sharp edge wear and cylinder ring. Slight thinning of backstrap. The grips have a few light handling marks. Near mirror bright bore.
