Emil Kerner & Sohn German Drilling Combination Gun 16 Ga. SxS Shotgun Barrels 7.8x57 Rifle. Established in 1890 Emil Kerner carried on an almost 300-year legacy of Kerner gunsmithing in Suhl. Blue Krupp Steel barrels with a beaded blade front and automatic flip up rear notch sight, matted rib, chambers measured at 2 1/2 inches, single extractor, and standard German proofs on the underside. The scalloped, side clipped boxlock action is an attractive coin gray with a Greener style cross-bolt, full coverage leafy scroll engraving and finely detailed game scenes of Elk with cows on the right and a bull on the left. Dual triggers, Greener style side safety, checkered cocking piece for the rifle barrel, and carved horn trigger guard. Checkered walnut forearm with Deeley latch and engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, sling swivels, raised cheek piece, engraved cartridge trap, and rubber buttpad. The double triggers worked as any other double barrel shotgun when the selector was set for the shotgun, but when the rifle barrel was selected only the front trigger was used. The safety is mounted on the left side of the stock and is inlaid above the double triggers. This drilling also features cocking indicators, located on the top of the upper tang on either side of the action lever. This drilling has double claw mount scope bases which allow use of fixed sights with a mounted scope. It has a Hensoldt Wetzlar Dialytan 4x32 Rifle scope. 16 Gauge/7.8x57R
