WW2 US Military S&W .38 Victory Model Revolver
Description: Serial #V512980, .38 Special, 4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining 75-80% of the original parkerized finish, with the balance blended smoothly into a mixed plum-brown and dark gray patina. Some silvering is present along the high edges and projections, and there is a light turn-ring on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain most of their original color case-hardening, and the "(flaming bomb) U.S. PROPERTY G.H.D." property marking is still clear along the left side of the topstrap. The walnut grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, with numerous small handling marks and surface blemishes on both panels, as well as a single small chip at the toe on the right side. A previous owner scratched their initials into the wood on the right panel: "RPG." The lock-up is still tight and the action functions smoothly in both single and double-action. This is a very good-fine example of a WW2 S&W, and would make a nice addition to a collection. FFL or C&R; SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
