Description:
Serial #95968, .32 RF, 3 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that has some spots of darker pitting and freckling along its length. This revolver has matching assembly numbers on the frame, barrel, and cylinder: "&&O". The metal retains 70-75% of the original blue finish with thin freckling throughout, as well as a mottled, plum-brown patina on the cylinder and ejector rod. Muted color case-hardening is visible on the hammer, mixing with a freckled gray-brown patina on the balance, and there are some small peen marks on the sideplate. The rosewood grips are original and numbered to the gun on the interior, with numerous small handling marks marring the original piano varnish finish on either side. The lock-up is good, but there is a tiny amount of lateral play in the barrel, and the action is fully functional. This is a very good No. 1 1/2 tip-up, and would make a nice representative example for a collection. Antique
