.30-06, #187122, 24 inch barrel, arsenal blue finish, walnut stock and hand guard, original sights, 1-11 marked RIA barrel, clear 1911 cartouche, correct sling, RIA 1911 bayonet, correct rifle case.
This rifle is mentioned in the C. S. Ferris book "Rock Island Rifle Model 1903" on page 22. The hand guard on this rifle has no clips (clips were added in1910) but has a sight cut. This was requested by Captain W. H. Hay, captain of the US Cavalry Rifle Team. Copy of book is provided.
Condition: very good bore, 60% finish overall, excellent wood, excellent mechanically, excellent marks, bayonet, scabbard and rifle case are in excellent condition.
