Description:
This classic Beretta SO4 is a true side-lock and in exceptional condition was manufactured in 1971 as an Olympic Trap gun. It is also an excellent sporitng clays gun.
It has the original Pietro Beretta logo canvas and leather fitted case. When I bought the gun in 2016, I put the case aside to keep it in it's current almost new condition. It has the highly desirable hand detachable hidden tab pins on the side plates.
Cole custom Gun Smiths completely serviced it after I bought it and cleaned, tuned, reblued the trigger guard, refreshed the jewel turning, polished firing pins, polished inertia block beak and reactivated the safety. Both mainsprings have been replaced. It has been shot very few times since then.
The wood is stunning and has very few handling marks with a slight monte carlo and Pachmayer sporting clays pad. All finishes are 98% and original. great trigger pulls. Checkering is very fine and sharp.
A very fine and little-used example of Beretta's best work. A mostly hand-made sidelock from the era when the last of the pre-war craftsmen were still working.
