Description:
The 25th Anniversary GSP commemorative set in 22/32 combination, for the German market.  Acquired in Germany, this set was sold to the German market, and included the .22lr handgun, and .32 upper section with commemorative markings.  This differs from the USA marketing from Walther and its distributor.  The commemorative barrel weights are included, but are in black and nickel for the two calibers.  The commemorative grip, which is the same as on the Atlanta but differs from all other GSP and has a different plaque than the Atlanta, is present.  The grip has a crack at the anchoring bolt (see illustration), and is not completely perfect for that reason.

This set was used.  The pistol parts and case have light scratching and wear from that use, and the case is not perfect.  Many accessories and the manual are missing.  The gun is US importer-marked from import in this century (see image).  As  a result, this is an interesting collector set as well as one for actual use, but is not a like new or unused item.  The price is believed to reflect this, but is adjustable if those allowances are insufficient.  For that reason, the price is suggested and based on reviews of past sales, but is only suggested.

Please remember, this special edition GSP is a superb competition quality target gun, as well as a commemorative item.  Unlike many commemorative guns, particularly from USA manufacturers, the commemorative guns GSP (this one and the Atlanta) are the same quality as the best competition guns Walther produced in that time period.  No shortcuts in techical quality were taken, in favor of looks.  The nickel plating on some parts, however, does create tighter clearances for some parts of the gun, compared to blackened finish guns.

Two types of .32 magazine are included and illustrated.  One has a slot for brass cathers, one does not.  These can be replaced by patched pairs, either for brass cathers (with a brass catching device included) or a pair of standard magazine bases.  Cost would differ slightly.  Please note, only one original magazine in .22 lr (the steel or nickel colored one) is provided.  The other, in black is thought not to be original to the gun.

Like most GSP of the era, there is no safety on the frame.  If desired, the Expert upper sections can be use on the frame, but the entire upper section must be changed for the Expert recoil buffers to be used.

Please note, the basic contents of the set originally differed from what was sold in the USA by the US importer.  This set is as prepared by Walther for the German/Austrian/French and other EU market.

The GSP rifle set offered by me will fit this gun, and could further increase its utility and interest.  For those wishing to experience the difference in .32 standard and Expert upper sections on this gun, an Expert upper section in .32 can be made available if desired for combined purchase at extra cost.

From the user and collctors standpoints, this set and the Atlanta offered reflect the ultimate or end-point of Walther accompishment or perfection in the original GSP design, after introduction of the Ti-N (titanium nitride) coating process to replace case hardening of the action parts.  From they "artistic"perspective, they are an intresting variation of what was offered in the German-EU market compared to the USA.  Keeping in mind that neither of the rifle accessories (from Walther or B&M) were actually designed by Walther itself, the one offered (from B&M) reflects one side of what can be done by other German designers as an add-on with a high level of utility and accuracy intended.

As a result, this gun, and the others, may be more of interest to from the user or engineering collection standpoint, than from that of a display gallery that is for display of cosmetic perfection.

Additional images, of course, on request.  If actual use is intended, the gun can be tested on site in NH, and compared to other target guns of relevance.

This set, as with all others offered, is for sale locally, and therefore subject to prior sale or hold. Discounts will apply to most combined item sales.

Offers may be included with the request for pricing.
