Winchester Model 70 30GOVT03 (30-06) Pre-64
- Made in 1948.
- Immaculate.
- Stock, Bore Metal work all awsomely beautiful.
- Jeweled Bolt.
- Rough metal on bolt knob only deficiency. All else immmaculate.
- Receiver drilled and tapped for scope mount. No sights.
"The early M70's chambered in 30-06 all bore the legend ".30 Gov't (30-06)" on the barrel. When production resumed after WWII the ".30 Gov't" was dropped. Had a 1939 mfg'd M70 with the same stamping. The wood was straight grained black walnut with close fit to all metal parts."
