Description:
For consideration is a very nicely appointed Custom Remington 700 bolt action rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum. The Remington 700 needs no introduction to serious shooters as it can be accurized to produce incredible precision shots. It has been used by countless hunters, law enforcement and military units and shooters. This rifle has a Remington branded heavy fluted barrel with a 1 in 10" twist that has a minty bore with very strong rifling. The J Allen Enterprises chassis stock is a premium piece of hardware that ranks among the best of it's type and is almost infinately adjustable to fit the shooter. The rifle is fitted with a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50 precision scope that has side focus allowing the shooter to set the plane of focus for any distance from about 25 yds to infinity. The scope is a first focal plane model which means that as the power/zoom ring is turned the reticle enlarges or reduces accordingly. Once dialed in the FFP feature allows hold points for various distances to hold true at different power settings. Flip up caps on the scope protect the front and rear elements but can quickly be flipped out of the way. The adjustable cheek rest looks to have been inscribed with Army 10th Mountain Wolverine division information. There are plenty of picatinny rail sections and QD connection points to set the rifle up for a multitude of applications.
As far as the caliber is concerned the .338 Lapua Magnum caliber has been used for some very long range precision shooting. The .338 Lapua Magnum (8.6×70 mm or 8.58×70 mm) is a rimless, bottlenecked, centerfire rifle cartridge. It was developed during the 1980s as a high-powered, long-range cartridge for military snipers. It was used in the War in Afghanistan and the Iraq War. As a result of this, it has become widely available.
This precision Remington 700 would make an awesome long range shooter.
