Description:
Remington 1100SF, or sometimes referred to as an 1100 Premier. Strikingly beautiful 1100 in the highest cataloged grade that Remington offered with gorgeous floral and scroll engraving with four gold inlays on each, the right and left sides. On the right side are a mallard, two pointing dogs and a flushing quail. On the left side are a woodcock, two long hair dogs on point and a flushing grouse…all expertly done!
This 1100SF is a 12 gauge semi auto in Skeet configuration with a 26” SKEET choked vent rib barrel. An “F” grade 1100 is quite scarce in it own right but this gun comes as a factory ordered three-barrel set! All three barrels are “F” grade engraved and serial numbered to the gun: 26” VR SKEET, 28” VR Modified and 28” VR Full…quite unusual.
The spectacular American Walnut stock has a 14 1/8” length of pull to the factory butt plate; 1 7/16” drop at comb and 2 ¼” drop at heel. There is a stock escutcheon with the initials DJM engraved on it. Elegant “F” style checkering is flawlessly executed on the stock and the matching forearm.
Condition:
The bolt face, the magazine tube and gas system make the gun look unfired. However, the Full choke barrel has that characteristic 1100 pitting on the hidden mag tube barrel band that shows-up after lots of use! Was this barrel used on another gun?
The rest of the metal is 99%, even the loading gate is nearly perfect!
The stock shows some light handling scratches on the left side and the right side has several minor scratches and “dings” with one fairly significant mark about ¼” diameter, an inch from the toe.
All-in-all this is a very desirable 1100SF for the Remington collector and shooter.
