Description:
From a Midwest sale, a collection of Indian War era items. The 1833 muket is cut down in Indian fashion with a 18" smooth bore 69 caliber barrel. The bore looks dark (I have not cleaned this musket). The lock functions perfectly including half cock and has a very strong hammer spring, is stamped and has been converted form the original flintlock (see photos). The butt plate, barrel band and trigger guard are steel and has a beaded horse hair tuff attached (see photos). The wood is solid with no cracks or chips; however, it has a few dents and dings (see photos). At the sale they said this musket was made in 1833. The kinfe is Sheffield and the sheath has extensive quill decoration but is badly weathered (see photos). The necklace is of old glass trade beads strung on braided grass with a single Elk tooth (see photos). The belt is heavily beaded with sea shell decoration and has a turpuoise center piece. At the sale they had no information as to the previous owner or where or when the items were used. I have no way to authenticate any of the items although they all look period correct and original to me. Since I cannot authenticate or provide a history for the collection I am offering it with 100% satisfaction guarantee.
