VIRGINAL 1903 NATIONAL MATCH SPRINGFIELD, CAL. .30-06, SER. 1272966, MFG. 1928. THIS IS NATIONAL MATCH IS POSSIBLY THE MOST "VIRGINAL IN EXISTENCE. THE STOCK WAS UPGRADED TO A 1929 PISTOL GRIP STOCK. THEN IT WAS PUT IN A COLLECTOR'S RACK WHERE IT SAT UNTIL THE ESTATE SOLD IT TO US. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE EVER SEEN ONE THAT HAS BOTH THE EXTREMELY RARE FRONT AND REAR SIGHT PROTECTIVE COVERS. USUALLY LOST YEARS AGO. THE METAL COMPONENTS HAVE REATINED ABOUT 99% OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISH. THE LITTLE LOSS THERE IS, IS FROM SOME VERY SLIGHT SHARP EDGE SILVERING. THERE IS NO RUST OR SCRATCHES ANYWHERE. ALL PARTS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE GUN. THE POLISHED BOLT ASSEMBLY IS ELECTRO-PILLED TO MATCH AND THAT IS 100% CORRECT. THE PISTOL GRIP STOCK APPEARS TO HAVE RETAINED 100% OF THE ORIGINAL LACQUER FINISH. THERE IS NOT A BLEMISH ANYWHERE. THE ORIGINAL ADJUSTABLE REAR SIGHT AND THE RARE COVERED LADDER SIGHT ARE PRESENT WHICH IS VERY RARE. THE BOLT RAILS, BOLT FACE, AND FEED RAMP SHOW LITTLE IF ANY USE. THE BORE IS PRISTINE, MIRROR BRIGHT WITH RAZOR-SHARP RIFLING. NOT A WHISP OF FROST ANYWHERE..THE BARREL IS STAMPED "S-A/ FLAMING BOMB/4-28". IT IS ALSO HAS BEEN STAR GUAGED AND THE MUZZLE IS "STAR" STAMPED**. THIS MINTY BEAUTY WOULD SATISFY THE MOST PICKY COLLECTOR IS CERTAINLY A COLLECTION CENTERPIECE.
