We inspect the firearm and it's action to see if everything appears functional but they are sold without warranty. Visual inspection only to confirm correct item and that it matches description in major ways. Minor differences in subjective matters like percent of condition, etc, and personal opinions like ergonomics, fit to your hand or shoulder, etc, do not justify returns. Here is an awesome piece of wetern history. This Colt Frontier Six Shooter was made in 1897 and is chambered for 44-40 WCF. The action works perfectly with 4 very distinct clicks and smooth operation. The cylinder locks up tight with almost no wiggle on all 6 chambers. This gun is tight, smooth and ready to go. The frame, trigger guard, and butt serial numbers all match, 172038. I cannot make out any numbers on the cylinder or barrel. The loading gate says 546 on it. The bore looks good and exhibits the normal black powder wear and old pitting but the rifling is clean and very visible. The barrel is 7.5" and is correct according to the included Colt letter, as are the hard rubber grips. It was shipped to Montgomery Ward in Chicago Illinois on August 27th 1897. This is one of the best old antique Colt's I have had in the shop. Ships direct to your door with a copy of your ID to prove age and residency.
