This is an origonal Gibbs 52 Cal. Civil War Carbine. This is the rarest of the Civil War Carbines. They were made by W.F. Brooks & Mann. of New York City. The 1052 carbines were delivered to the U.S. Govt. in 1865. And are considered Late War Carbines. ACbout 500 Gibbs carbines were issued to the 10th Missouri Cavalry. And in lesser numbers to the 13th and 16th New York Cavalry. This is one of the finest Gibbs for sale today. Use the Photos to judge condition.
