Description:
Serial #64256, .30-40 Krag, 30" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a little-used rifle that retains 90-92% of the original blue finish, with some gray fading at the muzzle, and some further fading along the high and exposed edges. The bolt retains a commensurate amount of the original armory bright finish, with some dark freckling present on the handle. The extractor has about 50-60% of the original bright nitre-blue remaining, and a dull plum-brown patina on the balance. The walnut stock and handguard have only some minor handling marks and blemishes scattered about the otherwise excellent original military oil finish, and the "ISA / 1901" cartouche and "P (in circle)" proof marking are crisp and clear. This is a splendid, lightly-used Krag, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. Antique
