Description:
Standard length 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in the desirable 44 WCF caliber with a fairly shiny bore with light roughness and good rifling. Full length magazine tube. Original sights include a German silver blade front with  a buckhorn sporting rear. Barrel retains most all original thinning blue turning a plum/brown color. Receiver retains strong original blue in the protected areas with the balance turning a mixture of grey and plum/brown. Traces of case colors on the hammer and lever. Faded nitre blue on the loading gate.Straight grain walnut stocks are very good with some scattered light handling mars. Crescent rifle style buttplate. Good crisp action. The Model 1873 Winchester is known as the "Gun That Won The West" and this nice example was made in 1893.
