This one was to late for the Mexican War, but some were used by both sides during the Civil War as well as the Indian wars.  The Hall rifles and carbines were first issued in 1819 and were Flintlock guns originally. They become Percussion  later on in the 1830's and were issued to special troops.  They were made in a number of calibers.
