Single Shot Pistol by Lou Sebastian Alberdi
Here we present an antique Spanish Percussion Pistol by Lou Sebastian Alberdi, made circa 1843 in the Basque Region of Spain, Eibar. This is a full-sized fighting pistol with panache. This piece has a round barrel with a ringed muzzle. The top is engraved and silver filled to read “En Eibar Por Sebastian Alberdi Ano 1843”. The hammer has been cast and engraved with the likeness of a winged lion, an ancient motif and symbol. Engraving around the breech and grip frame.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is smooth and remains in good shape for its age. Both the stock and grip contain the expected amount of handling wear, and the checkering remains sharp. An “S” is stamped onto the bottom of the stock just in front of the trigger guard tang. Legible, clear markings. “34” is marked on the left barrel flat.
