Webley & Son 12 bore sidelock non-ejector with highly figured Damascus barrels, disc set strikers, unique engraving, and loads of residual case coloring on the action and sideplates. Webley no. 25264 was made 1880 – 1885 and features “dip edge” lockplates. Weighs 7lb 4oz. The 30-1/4” Damascus barrels have shiny bores and are highly figured. Chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. Black powder proof. Although the barrels are black powder proof, given their excellent wall thickness and great condition they can be safely shot with low pressure shotshells from RST and ARMUSA. The barrels are topped by a raised solid concave style rib which is inscribed “P. Webley & Son, St. James’s , London”. The right barrel is bored 0.737 with a constriction of 0.038 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.033. The left barrel is also bored 0.737 and has a constriction of 0.039 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.034. The Prince of Wales grip stock and splinter forearm are made of figured European walnut finished off with a thin horn buttplate. The forearm has an ebony tip. There are some handling marks on the stock from normal use. Checkering is in good condition. Stock dimensions are 14” including the 1/8” buttplate by 1-3/4” by 2-3/4”.
