Description:
A very rare pepperbox mentioned by Flayderman in his book of antique firearms is the maker Jacob Post of Newark New Jersey who made the rear ring trigger pepperbox,Ovwerall measuring about almost 8" with a flutd barrel of 3 1/4", with a concealed hammer and about 30cal. Odd mechanism claimes by Flayderman "A SLIGHLTLY COMPLICTED AND POSSIBLY A BIT HAIRBRAINED SYSTEM:TO FIRE TRIGGER HAD TO BE PULLED FIRST THEY PULLED FORWARD TO SET."
This gun wlorks as stated and the barrel indexes well with all six cylinders with complete nipples. The frame has profuse chisel scroll engravings and the American walnut grips are fine condition.A rare one to find as unknown quantity production makes thos gun scarce.
