Description:
This uniform consists of a jacket (fastened only at the collar), vest, and trousers. The jacket has a stand collar with embroidered bullion borders and flaming bomb devices, detachable linen cuffs and inner collar, bullion piping and trefoils, embroidered bullion Lt. Colonel rank insignia and Royal Artillery buttons on the epaulettes. The black vest has a solid front with gold bullion center seam and hem and has a rear zipper and adjustable silk back panel. The black worsted trousers have wide scarlet stripes down the legs, a zipper fly, and elastic stirrups at the cuffs. All of the uniform items are in excellent condition although there is a small amount of staining on the linen cuffs and collar as well as few slightly tattered spots on the crimson silk lining of the jacket. This is an excellent Royal Fusiliers officer's mess uniform.
