Offering a great piece of American firearm manufacturing today with a S&W model K38 Combat Masterpiece. This example shows very little wear and wood and metal finishes from very good to excellent. It sports the desirable 4" bbl, adjustable rear sight, original 5 screw with grips numbered to the gun and are chip and crack free but there are a few small compressions and dings on the bottom sharp edges. The is no evidence of rust and corrosion with holster wear visible in some places notably, on the right side near the S&W logo (holster snap?). On the right side of the frame, there some small scratches (see photo) which I might guess wold come from the snap on the inside of a holster. The case colors on the trigger and hammer are clean and vivid. The bore is excellent with strong rifling. Trigger engagement, cylinder rotation and hammer fall are timed perfectly. Sale is for what is shown only and there is no box.
This revolver is C&R eligible..
The revolver still enjoys a large following and its ruggedness and reliability are legendary. If my Internet search is correct, the revolver was mfg right around 1951. Here is you chance to pick up a very nice shooter, CCW or one for the collection. I am by no means an expert on these revolvers and details in the description were obtained from various images, descriptions and statements gathered on my internet search.
