PERCUSSION Revolver SINGLE ACTION .31 Caliber POCKET REVOLVER Here we present an antique Civil War Era Union Arms Company .31 Caliber Single Action Percussion Pocket Revolver, manufactured by W. W. Marston circa 1858 into the early 1860s in New York City, New York. William Marston produced several different versions of this pistol, most of which were five shot models featuring an octagonal barrel. The final design, though, included a six shot cylinder and a round barrel. Approximately 13,000 of all types were produced and were very similar to both the Colt and Whitney pocket revolvers. These revolvers were commonly marketed with the trade names “Union Arms”, “Phenix”, and “Western”. Many of these were produced, and shy of the serial number, with no markings whatsoever on the revolver. This was done so retailers or other vendors could mark them as they saw fit. Though only 13,000 were made, these were popular and most certainly saw use on the Civil War battlefields, on the home front, and in the West. These, along with the Colts and Whitneys, were some of the smallest, handiest pocket revolvers of the time. The overall condition is very good. A good amount of blue finish remains on the barrel and the frame is a flash pitted on the right side especially. The action is strong. The hammer must be drawn deliberately all the way back so that the cylinder indexes and locks up. The bore is in good condition with good rifling. The grips are solid. Numbers match. A very scarce alternative to the Colt 1849 Pocket from the Civil War period! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6-1/4 inches. Caliber: .31 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
