Payment Types Accepted: Cashiers check or Money Order Description: From a Midwest sale, a collection of Spanish American War era items. The 45-70 caliber 1884 saddle ring carbine trapdoor SS# 13987 is in near new condition with all the original blue, no rust and only a little wear on the sharp edge of the muzzle. The breach block still retains faded color case (see photos). The action is tight and it appears the rifle has been fired very little. The wood has a few dents and dings, and the proper ramrod and tool are included in the butt stock (see photos). At the sale they said this carbine was made in 1886. The pistol is an Army issue 1894 Colt 38 caliber proof marked RAC and is in very used condition. It functions as it should and locks up tight, but most of the blue is worn (see photos). The wood grips are solid with no cracks or chips, but missing the lanyard ring. The pommel bag has a holster on one side and a binocular pouch on the other (no binoculars came with the bag). The leather is supple and in good condition. The bayonet is rough, although complete with scabbard and belt hanger it has a great deal of rust on the bayonet and metal scabbard (see photos). The US stamped, Army issue saddle bags have a lot of wear, but the leather is not brittle, and they are still in usable condition. Included is an issue Bible and Sewing kit (see photos). Also included is a period Spanish Army belt and buckle (see photo). The only fault I can find with the rifle is a hairline crack at the tang; however, the wood is solid as a rock. At the sale they had no information as to the previous owner or where or when the items were used. I have no way to authenticate any of the items although they all look period correct and original to me. Since I cannot authenticate or provide a history for the collection I am offering it with 100% satisfaction guarantee. If it fails to live up to your expectations in any way, return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping. See my feedback.
