About Us: I am private M1 Carbine collector with 20 years experience restoring/rebuilding U.S.G.I. M1 carbine rifles. In addition to selling this rifle, I have many USGI carbine parts for sale, feel free to contact me with your carbine part needs!!

Description:
For sale is a Quality Hardware & Machine (QHMC) M1 carbine rifle. This is an all-USGI weapon (SN 4,847,814) that has been meticulously restored by the seller to "as issued" condition using all USGI parts with correct QHMC-coded parts and stock. It has an undated Winchester barrel (correct for this carbine) stamped with the Winchester "W" and Winchester "pW" proof. The muzzle has very little wear, measuring .3010" with a nice shiny bore. The receiver is the detachable spring-tube type, characteristic of all QHMC carbines. There are NO import marks on this rifle, and the original parkerized finish on the receiver, barrel, bolt, slide, and trigger housing match very well with little wear and a nice patina from its 80 year age. The "high-wood" stock is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs, and no dings or gouges, just one minor 2 in. scratch near the trigger guard. The nose of the stock has the shadow of a wider (type II or III) barrel band. The stock has the correct acceptance cartouche on the right side and the QRMC stamp in the left sling well with the correct matching handguard. By its serial number, this carbine was manufactured in mid-March 1944, just a month before the termination of the QHMC contract with the US Govt. As such, this carbine exhibits some interesting transitional features such as a type III adjustable rear sight (one of the earliest uses of this sight), relatively rare trigger housing (NL-Q) and slide (UN-Q), type II barrel band, and "high-wood" stock (both high-wood and low-wood were used at this time).  Additional info added on 6/13/24:    The stock, while in beautiful condition, does have two holes on the left side for mouinting the granade launching sight. I consider this an additional bit of realism added to this beautiful carbine!!
COLLECTORS NOTE:  Data from the book "War Baby" and the Carbine Club Newsletter were used in the restoration of this rifle.  This is a great looking carbine that would be a great addition to your M1 carbine collection, but with little muzzle wear, don't be afraid to shoot it and have fun!!
