Inspired by the style of legendary knife maker, William Scagel..this brand new mint condition knife is ground from 1095 high carbon steel, (there is a light coat of rem oil oil on the blade which shows as a light haze in the pictures ) professional heat treated to 56 - 58 HRC for durability and sharpness, it has a solid brass guard coupled to a stacked leather handle and finished off with a genuine stag butt cap, this knife is very similar in appearance to many classic Scagel knives, it is well balanced and very comfortable in the hand.
It comes with a custom fitted, vegetable tanned sturdy leather sheath that is handmade especially for this knife, it's hand stitched with synthetic sinew which is very durable.. the keeper strap folds tightly over the guard and it's fastened with a brass snap and will hold this knife securely on your hip. just like a fine firearm, this high quality carbon steel knife will need a certain amount of care, it should be cleaned after each use and a light coat of quality oil should be applied to the blade to prevent rust and tarnishing, although the high quality vegetable tan leather sheath is great to carry your knife, is not ideal to store it in, the knife should be stored clean dry and oiled and out of the sheath....
