WAR OF 1812 ERA BRITISH GEORGE III FLINTLOCK PATTERN 1796 CAVALRY OFFICER’S PISTOL BY JOS. TIREBUCK, 60 HAYMARKET, LONDON. 14” o/a with 8.5” .75 cal. musket bore Damascus round ribbed and sighted barrel with platinum banded breech. Cavalry “STIRRUP” type ramrod. Walnut stock with checkered bag shaped Pattern 1796 grip. Lock with sliding hammer safety signed “TIREBUCK” with fine scroll engraving. Platinum lined touchhole. 100% original and excellent with much of the original finish overall. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Intended for use with Brown Bess .75 cal. musket balls readily available to Officers from Ordnance supplies. Tirebuck was considered one of the best London makers but only operate for 4 years passing away in 1815.
