Here is an unfired last year of production Series 70 .45 ACP from early 80's before transitioning over to the Series 80 Colts in 1983.
Appears to be unfired and in new condition. The original factory grips likewise appear new with no handling wear and are nice and sharp.
One interesting thing to note is the "B" prefix on the serial number. From what has been gathered, as we know Colt has been known to not waste any parts throughout the years. Also we have learned that they would make mistakes with their rollmarks from time to time. If Colt, after stamping the serial number on a frame, made the mistake of using a serial number twice on two frames, they would simply add a prefix. In this case they added the letter "73B". This would make it a different frame and they would get it out to the market. You'll find a few examples out there like this. If you are a fan of Colt 1911s, this piece would compliment your collection without a doubt.
Comes with original blue Colt hard plastic box, padlock, factory insturction booklet and two .45 cal new magazines.
