"NSN, circa War of 1812, .69 caliber, 42.5"" round smoothbore barrel. Undoubtedly used during this conflict as the lock plate and side plates are American Revolutionary War pieces. Lock plate is surcharged with ""US"" behind hammer and ""Charleville"" forward of hammer. Overall good condition with metal being a smooth dark patina, pin-prick surface oxidation is noted. Action holds at half and full cock. An old repair is noted on above the lock plate. A musket of two wars with the British.
